Vascular Surgery Essen - Kettwig
Focus: Vascular diseases
An operating room (and recovery room) is available for outpatient operations.
Range of services:
*Comprehensive and modern examination of the vessels,
Diagnostics and therapy
Circulatory disorders of the extremities (PAD)
caused by narrowed or blocked arteries, usually in the legs.
Typical symptoms are pain when walking ("window shopping disease") and cold limbs.
Early diagnosis and targeted therapy can alleviate symptoms and prevent subsequent damage.
Special carotid (carotid artery) examination
Evaluation of carotid artery deposits and occlusion-threatened carotid artery for stroke prevention (Carotid stenosis: diagnostics and therapy)
Medical and cosmetic vein therapy:
*Laser treatment as a gentle treatment method for varicose veins
The technique of so-called endovenous surgery offers both functional and cosmetic advantages. This minimally invasive treatment method generally does not involve any skin incisions that could leave scars.
*Micro-sclerotherapy, foam sclerotherapy and duplex-guided foam sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy (sclerotherapy) is a sophisticated, highly effective, and low-complication therapy for the treatment of spider veins and tributary varicose veins. By injecting a sclerosing agent, the vein closes, and the body gradually converts it into normal connective tissue.
*Dialysis shunt surgery
Here, the vascular connections for hemodialysis are surgically created. In cooperation with our local nephrology colleagues and dialysis centers, we offer all types of arteriovenous vascular access (shunts), especially for patients with complex vascular needs.
*Aortic aneurysm
An aneurysm is a pathological dilation of an artery. This dilation most commonly affects the abdominal aorta (abdominal aortic aneurysm, or AAA for short). This dilation is dangerous because the vessel can rupture, leading to internal bleeding. Therefore, early detection and timely treatment of an aneurysm is important.
